Resumen:	En el desarrollo de este trabajo se presenta inicialmente el marco referencial en el cual se incluye lo referente al marco teórico, marco conceptual, marco normativo y lo correspondiente al estado del arte. Seguido se encuentran las generalidades productivas y potencialidades del departamento del Valle del Cauca, donde se presenta información descriptiva del departamento, se comienza con unas especificaciones tanto geográficas como fisiográficas, se muestran las respectivas potencialidades del departamento, y se encuentran las generalidades productivas del Valle del Cauca, divididas en iniciativas clúster e iniciativas no clúster. Posteriormente aparece la relación de la producción de bioetanol con la producción de caña de azúcar en el periodo 2005-2017, aquí se presenta información descriptiva del comportamiento de la producción por un lado de la caña de azúcar y por el otro lado de la producción de Bioetanol. Primero se presenta la producción de caña de azúcar a nivel nacional y posteriormente a nivel del departamento del Valle del Cauca y se muestra la producción de Bioetanol de igual forma a nivel nacional y seguidamente a nivel del departamento para el periodo analizado. Finalmente se muestran los eslabones de la cadena productiva y la conformación de la agroindustria azucarera para el periodo 2005-2017, en donde primero se presentan los eslabones conformados por el eslabón primario y el eslabón industrial.
Abstract:	In the development of this work, the referential framework is initially presented in which the theoretical framework, conceptual framework, normative framework and the corresponding state of the art are included. Following are the productive generalities and potential of the department of Valle del Cauca, where descriptive information of the department is presented, it begins with both geographical and physiographic specifications, the respective potentialities of the department are shown, and the productive generalities of the Valle del Cauca, divided into cluster initiatives and non-cluster initiatives. Subsequently, the relationship of bioethanol production with sugarcane production in the 2005-2017 period appears, here is descriptive information on the behavior of production on one side of the sugarcane and on the other side of the production of sugarcane. Bioethanol First, the production of sugar cane is presented at the national level and then at the level of the department of Valle del Cauca and the production of Bioethanol is shown in the same way at the national level and then at the level of the department for the period analyzed. Finally, the links of the production chain and the conformation of the sugar agribusiness for the 2005-2017 period are shown, where the links formed by the primary link and the industrial link are first presented.
